About

Hi, I’m Sam — the artist and mom behind Mother Mold Studio.

Before motherhood, I spent years working as a professional sculptor and professor, specializing in life casting. My work took me across the U.S. and internationally, capturing the fine details of animals, nature, and form. Sculpture was always about honoring what’s real and fleeting — and that instinct deepened when I became a mother.

Everything changed the day I cast my son’s hand at just three weeks old.

That small, quiet moment — holding onto something so temporary — reminded me how precious early life really is. Since then, I’ve made it my mission to help other families preserve these same moments in a meaningful, lasting way.

The name Mother Mold Studio comes from the sculptural term “mother mold” — the strong outer shell that protects and supports a delicate form within. It’s a perfect symbol of what I do: preserve the earliest stages of life with both strength and care.

At Mother Mold Studio, I bring together the precision of fine art with the tenderness of motherhood. Each piece is handcrafted with care and intention — whether it’s a newborn’s curled fingers, a sibling’s hand in yours, or a family’s embrace.

Sessions are gentle, guided, and focused on your comfort. I work with newborns, infants, siblings/family groups, and custom milestone pieces to create sculptures that last a lifetime.

Our mission is to help families hold onto the moments that pass too quickly — through handcrafted sculptures that capture love, connection, and the beauty of growing together.

Thank you for allowing me to be part of your journey.

Let’s create something you’ll hold onto forever. These early moments won’t last — but your keepsake will.
