Conservation Efforts

Understanding the potential of art to impact communities has allowed me to collaborate with Zoos, AAZK chapters, and conservation programs to expand their education outreach, public engagement, and fundraising opportunities.

At Mother Mold Studio, we specialize in creating high-quality, museum-grade replicas of animal biofacts and lifecasts.

Our services are designed to support zoos, museums, educational programs, and conservation efforts by providing durable, realistic, and ethically produced replicas.

Biofact Casting

Biofact casting involves creating detailed, durable replicas of natural specimens such as rhino teeth, claws, foot prints, and other anatomical features.

Lifecasting

Lifecasting captures the actual texture and shape of an animal's body part (like a paw or snout) using skin-safe materials. This process is quick and non-invasive, ensuring the comfort and safety of the animal.

Other

Exhibit design and restoration. Sculptural project planning and design consulting.

Our Process

  • We discuss your needs, the specimen or animal to be cast, and any specific requirements.

  • Using high-quality silicone, or alginate for lifecasting, we create a detailed mold of the specimen or animal part.

  • The mold is filled with durable resin or rubber to produce an exact replica.

  • Detail and final sculpting elements are treated here.

We can paint the replica for added realism or leave it in its natural state (white/off white) for educational labeling.
